FUNCTIONS OF THE LEGAL SECTION

The functions carried out by the legal sections include the following:

• Rendering legal advise and opinions to the commissioner of lands over any matter that concerns the office of the commissioner of lands.

• Representing the commissioner of lands in legal disputes before courts of law by liasing with the attoney general.

• Scruitnising applications thoroughly to facilitate adherence to the law when granting consent.

• Processing applicantions for certificate of incorporations pursuint to the land (perpetual succession) Act.

• Effecting property reposensions in accordance with laid down procedures.
