The role of the office commissioner of lands is to administer land on a day to day basis on behalf of the President in whom the land is vested.
This includes allocating land on lease agreement and ensuring that all persons that hold land abide by the given lease terms and conditions.
In allocating land the office is aware that it is carrying out a trust for and on behalf of the people of Zambia, so that it is guided by their best economical, social and political interests
