The Ministry of Lands wishes to inform the general public that in its quest to make land more accessible to the people of Zambia in an efficient, effective and equitable manner, the following guidelines on the survey of land in Zambia are hereby published.
LAND SURVEY
The public's attention is drawn to the Land Survey Act Cap 188 of the Laws of Zambia which provides for the manner in which land surveys are carried out and diagrams and plans connected therewith shall be prepared; provides for the protection of survey beacons and other survey marks; makes further and more comprehensive provision for the registration and licensing of land surveyors. The Act also provides for the establishment and powers of a survey Control Board which will be responsible for the registration and licensing of land surveyor and for the exercise of disciplinary control for matters incidental to and connected with the foregoing.
The Survey Act establishes the office of the Surveyor-General as a public officer and a land surveyor to supervise and control the survey and charting of land for the purpose of registration.
